The Israeli prime minister’s office outlined Israel’s case against the U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees in a briefing with reporters Tuesday, building on allegations that some agency employees were involved in the Oct. 7 attack on Israel. “UNRWA is a front for Hamas,” spokesman Eylon Levy claimed, referring to the U.N. Relief and Works Agency. The allegations in the briefing could not be independently verified by The Washington Post.

Israeli undercover forces dressed as medics and civilians raided a hospital in the occupied West Bank Tuesday, killing three Palestinian militants, according to statements from the IDF and Palestinian militant groups. A hospital spokesman said it was the first time he had seen Israeli forces carrying out assassinations in a hospital.

Israeli raids and arrests have intensified across the West Bank since the war began, and Jenin has been a center of unrest. According to the United Nations, at least 367 Palestinians, including 94 children, have been killed across the West Bank since Oct. 7, the vast majority by Israeli forces.

The political leader of Hamas said the group was considering its response to a proposed hostage release and cease-fire deal, adding that the group has been invited to a meeting in Cairo to discuss it further. CIA Director William J. Burns met with the Israeli and Egyptian intelligence chiefs and the Qatari prime minister Sunday in Paris to discuss the possible deal.

At least 26,751 people have been killed and 65,636 injured in the Gaza Strip since the war began, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. Israel estimates that about 1,200 people were killed in Hamas’s Oct. 7 attack.
