Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes’ all-time NFL Fantasy Football team features Kansas City’s most outspoken rival

Patrick Mahomes recently took a break from everything Super Bowl related to indulge in a little Fantasy Football talk.

The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback is in Las Vegas this week ahead of Super Bowl LVIII against the San Francisco 49ers at Allegiant Stadium.

Monday was Super Bowl Opening Night where the players, coaches and staff speak to the world’s media about, well, just about anything.

Travis Kelce marriage proposals, Brock Purdy-Taylor Swift disses and George Kittle’s WrestleMania chat were just some of the things discussed on opening night.

One of the topics Mahomes discussed was Fantasy Football.

The reigning Super Bowl MVP was asked by 11-year-old NFL Network reporter Jeremiah Fennell which players he’d select in an all-time fantasy football draft.

The young reporter made it more challenging for Mahomes by saying he couldn’t draft Chiefs players, just current or former players from other teams.

Mahomes went for a couple of obvious choices at wide receiver.

With one pick he selected former teammate and current Miami Dolphins wideout Tyreek Hill, who he won Super Bowl LIV with at the end of the 2019 season.

Mahomes used his second pick on Randy Moss, the former Patriots and 49ers wide receiver who is widely regarded as one of the best to ever do it.

With his third pick he plumped for a somewhat surprising choice given their recent rivalry.

The Chiefs man went for Bengals star and Joe Burrow’s running mate, Ja’Marr Chase.

Chase is one of the best young pass catchers in the league but his selection is somewhat surprising given some of the back and forth in recent times.

Patrick Mahomes responds to Super Bowl boos with a cheeky dig at San Francisco 49ers fans

Asked which teams he thought would meet in Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas, Chase replied, ‘Anybody but the Chiefs.’

Last year, Chase responded with ‘Pat who?’ when asked who he thought was the best player in the NFL, to which Travis Kelce responded to not ‘ever disrespect Pat Mahomes.’

However, Mahomes choosing Chase as one of his three fantasy wide receivers is clearly a sign of respect for the Cincinnati man.

For his running back, Mahomes selected former Houston Oilers and New Orleans Saints star Earl Campbell.

Campbell was a five-time Pro Bowler, the 1979 NFL Most Valuable Player and one of the most feared RBs in history.

And that left the tight end position, which Mahomes filled with Rob Gronkowski – who may have become a WWE star if things were different.

The former Patriots and Buccaneers TE won four Super Bowls alongside Tom Brady as one of the most formidable NFL duos ever.

Mahomes and Kelce are a pretty irresistible QB/TE tandem themselves though, and will be hoping to secure their third Super Bowl ring together on Sunday night.
