Georgia tight end Brock Bowers is one of the most intriguing prospects in the 2024 NFL draft class, and he already knows where he wants to spend his pro career.

Chris Simms of NBC Sports reports that when Bowers was asked which NFL team he’d like to play for, his response was the Tennessee Titans.

A Georgia alum wanting to play in Tennessee is a curious choice considering the longtime rivalry between the Bulldogs and Vols. Still, Bowers’ interest in the Titans should be music to the ears of fans in Tennessee.

The Titans, who own the No. 7 pick in this year’s draft, went 6-11 this season and missed the playoffs for the second straight year. Former head coach Mike Vrabel was fired after the campaign and replaced by former Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan.

Adding Bowers to a Tennessee offense that ranked 28th in the NFL with 289.0 yards per game would certainly get Callahan’s tenure started on the right foot.

An All-American in each of his three years at Georgia, Bowers helped lead the team to back-to-back national championships in 2021 and 2022, and he became the first two-time winner of the John Mackey Award, which is given to the nation’s best tight end. He finished his collegiate career with 175 catches, 2,538 yards and 26 touchdowns plus five rushing touchdowns.

Despite Bowers’ interest in the Titans, he might not be on the board by the time it’s Tennessee’s turn to pick. In the latest mock draft, B/R’s NFL Scouting Department predicts that Bowers will be selected fifth overall by the Los Angeles Chargers. He is ranked as the No. 2 overall player in the draft class in B/R’s latest big board.
