In his first season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Baker Mayfield is headed to the divisional round of the playoffs.

Mayfield’s efficient night helped the Buccaneers secure a resounding 32-9 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday. Despite taking four sacks, the 28-year-old completed 61.1 percent of his passes for 337 yards while throwing three touchdowns against zero interceptions.

His top target was tight end Cade Otton, hauling in eight of his 11 targets for 89 yards. Throughout his career, Otton hadn’t surpassed more than 70 yards in a game.

Tampa Bay’s defense helped stifle an Eagles team that ended the regular season with the No. 7 scoring offense in the NFL. Philadelphia was unable to consistently sustain drives, failing to convert a single third-down opportunity on nine chances.

NFL fans were impressed with Mayfield’s stellar performance as the signal-caller has excelled despite playing on his fourth team in the past three seasons.

Baker’s thrown for 337 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions.

He joins Tom Brady as the only other player in franchise history to pass for 300+ in a playoff game.

But people tried to tell you he was just a game manager that needed to rely on a run game to succeed.

After falling to a record of 4-7 after a Week 12 loss that put the team’s hopes of making the postseason in jeopardy, Tampa Bay reeled off four straight wins and defeated the Carolina Panthers in the team’s final game of the regular season to secure a playoff spot.

Now, Mayfield and the Buccaneers will travel to Detroit and face off against the Lions on Sunday as they attempt to make the NFC Championship game for the first time since the franchise’s Super Bowl-winning 2020 season.
